Fourth party to contest next general elections

The Lucian Green Party (LGP) has plans to contest the upcoming general elections in Saint Lucia, according to its Interim Leader Andre De Caires.

De Caires has said that his party is focused on promoting biodiversity preservation, youth development, diversification in agriculture and food security.

The Green Party is also focused on bringing upward social mobility for the poor and help young people to become self-sufficient, according to him.

The party’s motto is: “Say no to greedy Joe!” and its symbol is a cow.

De Caires said the cow represents a “peaceful animal” that produces, milk, meat and manure.

While the party has four persons who are set to contest the next elections, the interim party leader is urging people from various constituencies to step forward and join the party.

De Caires said the party wants to see governance decentralized, so that people from within their own constituencies will be able to represent their fellow community members.

The Green Party will announce more of its plans in the near future.
