Carlton "Coaks" Cyril

A Nou Cozay

Weekdays: 5am-9am

St Lucia's very own stand out home grown comedic icon popularly known as “Coaks” grew up in a Bexon where he attended a Seven Day Adventist Church.

It was there he got his opportunity at doing short acting stints; this open him to the opportunity to becoming a member of the Che Campeche group.

Yet as humorous and carefree as he may be “Coaks” isn’t all laughs.
There is a side to him that demonstrates deep concern about serious social issues and the development of local Theatre.

One avenue he uses to showcase this is through his plays. The scripts are written to tackle social issues such as political, everyday economic situations and gender relations which he indicates appeals to the people.

As much as he owns his own company “Coaks Productions”  he remains an avid activist for the development of arts in St Lucia and crys his disappointment that enough is not been done for the creative arts.

His goal is to impart knowledge to young people.  He has plans to conduct workshop with secondary schools challenging your people to express themselves and be committed to their dreams.

I intend on venturing into the fields of Fashion Design and or Journalism. Both of these entice my need for expression. Telling my story, telling someone else’s story and helping others express themselves is important and will contribute to a brighter, more confident St Lucia.
