Chopping in Soufriere – 3 assisting Police

Three men are assisting the Police in their investigations into a chopping incident in Soufriere last evening at about 6:30 PM.

Police report that thirty-six year old Stephen Melius was chopped to the left side of the head.

According to reports, Melius was in the company of his father when they were attacked by four assailants.

It is reported that the assailants have had an ongoing land dispute with Melius who was initially taken to Soufriere hospital but later transferred to Victoria hospital.

Eyewitnesses at the scene of the chopping incident said the victim appeared unresponsive.

Melius is currently in critical condition, Police have said.
